Newark NJ police recently closed an establishment that was allegedly selling alcohol without a valid liquor license.
According to law enforcement, the illegal bar was operating out of the second floor of a commercial building located on South Orange Street in Newark, New Jersey. Newark police detectives received multiple tips about the Yohaib Loft selling liquor with a liquor license. The complaints reportedly came from local residents.
Newark NJ detectives investigated the complaints and eventually determined that enough evidence existed to shut down the business. On Sunday, authorities went to the bar, which is located on the second floor of a South Orange Street building, and allegedly saw employees selling alcohol to patrons.
Newark cops arrested two people: a 48-year-old Newark NJ man and a 44-year-old East Orange woman. Both suspects were charged with several crimes, including maintaining an unlicensed liquor establishment, unlawful possession of alcohol, and illegal sales of alcohol. Additionally, the female suspect was charged with the crime of aiding in illegal alcohol operations.
