Newark NJ police arrested an East Orange man who allegedly had crack cocaine, heroin, and a loaded handgun in his possession while walking on a city street.
The suspect is a 44-year-old resident of East Orange, NJ. According to law enforcement, he was spotted dealing drugs outside a building located in the area of North Munn Avenue and Tremont Avenue in Newark, New Jersey. Newark detectives with the Newark Police Division Special Enforcement Bureau had gone to the neighborhood after receiving several complaints about the suspect.
Newark NJ cops found the suspect walking outside the building and allegedly removing illegal drugs from a fanny pack on his waist. A subsequent search of the suspect’s fanny pack reportedly turned up a .25-caliber handgun, 84 vials of crack cocaine, 190 glassine envelopes filled with heroin, and nearly $2,800 in cash.
The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with illegal possession of a handgun. The suspect was also charged with numerous drug crimes, including possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) near a school zone, and possession of a CDS near a public housing complex.
