New Jersey police arrested an East Orange NJ man who allegedly had large amounts of heroin and marijuana at his home.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office conducted an investigation and determined that the suspect probably had illegal drugs at his residence in the 300 block of North Grove Street in East Orange, New Jersey.
Detectives with the prosecutor’s Narcotics Task Force then executed a search warrant. Once inside the house, the detectives allegedly discovered a large amount of illegal narcotics. Police reportedly seized 37 bricks of heroin and 16 grams of marijuana.
Police also reportedly found more than $12,000 cash inside the house.
The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with a number of drug crimes. Among the most serious charges faced by the suspect are possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, and simple possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana. Additionally, the suspect faces enhanced charges for allegedly possessing the drugs near both a school and a public park.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, NJ. He is being held at the jail on a $125,000 bail amount.
According to police, the investigation remains active and ongoing.
