Newark NJ law enforcement is trying to find a man who allegedly committed a shoplifting offense in Elizabeth and criminal mischief in Newark.
The suspect, a 21-year-old male, is also wanted for hindering apprehension in Harrison, New Jersey.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspect stole an unspecified item from a store located in Elizabeth and was subsequently identified by police as the theft crime suspect. A warrant was then issued for the suspect’s arrest, but he remained on the loose.
Sometime later, the suspect was charged with criminal mischief in Newark, New Jersey. Another warrant was issued for the suspect’s arrest; again, the suspect evaded arrest.
In addition to facing criminal charges for shoplifting, criminal mischief, and hindering apprehension, the suspect has also been identified as a person of interest in a Newark NJ burglary case. Investigators are hoping to question the suspect in connection with that case.
Now the Newark Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office are asking for the public’s assistance in determining the suspect’s whereabouts. Any members of the public with information about the suspect should reach out to law enforcement.
