Newark NJ police are still searching for the suspect in the burglary of a church more than five years ago.
The property crime was committed on August 11, 2011. According to law enforcement, the suspect broke into St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church and stole a number of items. The church is located on Sanford Avenue in Newark, New Jersey.
When Newark cops arrived at the scene, they investigated the burglary and determined that the suspect was able to gain access to the church by crawling through a broken window.
Church officials told Newark NJ detectives that the burglar got away with expensive electronic items and religious items.
Investigators eventually identified the suspect as a 55-year-old man from Newark, New Jersey. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. It is unclear at this time if the arrest warrant was recently issued.
