Newark NJ police arrested a local man accused of using a handgun to shoot and injure one person.
The shooting occurred on April 14, 2016. The Newark Police Department received a report of a shooting on a city street.
When police officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where doctors treated him for his injuries.
Meanwhile, the Newark Police Department conducted a far-reaching investigation into the shooting, with members of the Newark Cease Fire Shooting Response Team eventually determining that the suspect was the likely culprit.
Now Newark NJ authorities have finally located, and arrested, the suspect. Police officers with the Newark Fugitive Apprehension Team recently captured the suspect at a home located on Shepard Avenue in Newark, New Jersey.
The 32-year-old suspect, who resides in Newark, New Jersey, was placed under arrest without incident. He faces numerous criminal charges, including aggravated assault, illegal handgun possession, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
