Police in Newark NJ recently arrested a local resident who allegedly broke into a church located in the South Ward of the city.
The suspect is a 46-year-old man who lives in Newark, New Jersey. According to law enforcement, the suspect burglarized the New Dawn Church in an attempt to commit a theft crime.
The suspect allegedly went to the New Dawn Church, which is located on Peshine Avenue in Newark NJ, around 9:20 p.m. and tried to break into the property. A couple of people were present at the church at the time of the alleged burglary and detained the suspect until Newark cops could arrive at the scene.
When Newark NJ police officers showed up at the church, they reportedly saw the suspect being held by the two men who called law enforcement. A search of the suspect allegedly turned up a knife and property stolen from the Newark church.
The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with multiple criminal offenses, including burglary, theft of movable property, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
