Newark NJ City Employee Charged with Domestic Violence Assault

A Newark NJ man was recently arrested and charged with domestic violence assault after he allegedly attacked a female at a local residence.

The suspect is a 60-year-old male who lives in Newark and who works as a Newark city employee. According to law enforcement officials, the suspect violently assaulted the victim at a home located in the South Ward of Newark, New Jersey.

The Newark Police Department received a call about a domestic violence disturbance around 1:00 a.m. and dispatched police officers to the scene. When Newark cops arrived at the house, they reportedly found the victim suffering from physical injuries. She was treated at the scene by emergency medical responders and then transported to University Hospital.

Meanwhile, the suspect was placed under arrest and charged with aggravated assault. He is currently being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark.
