Fairfield NJ police recently arrested a local woman who allegedly ran a marijuana growing operation in the township.
According to Fairfield law enforcement, the suspect was part of a group of people who were operating a lucrative marijuana distribution business out of a local house. The residence that was allegedly being used for the illegal drug business was located at Nell Court in Fairfield, New Jersey.
Fairfield police discovered the marijuana operation by accident. Local law enforcement received a call about a dispute at the residence and happened to notice the marijuana farm when checking in on the homeowner.
A subsequent search of the house allegedly turned up multiple marijuana plants and drug packaging materials.
The 68-year-old female suspect is the third person to be arrested so far in connection with the alleged marijuana production and distribution operation.
The latest suspect to be arrested has been charged with multiple drug crimes, including marijuana possession, maintaining or operating a drug facility, and conspiracy to distribute marijuana.
After being placed under arrest and processed, the suspect was taken to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, NJ. She was being held at the jail in lieu of a $250K bail amount.
