Police in Fairfield New Jersey arrested a Hoboken NJ man accused of trying to sell heroin online.
The suspect is a 51-year-old resident of Hoboken, New Jersey. According to law enforcement, he used the Internet to post an ad on Craigslist. The Craigslist advertisement reportedly listed a small quantity of heroin for sale for $60.
Detectives with the Fairfield Police Department learned about the ad and conducted an undercover sting operation with members of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force. A Fairfield NJ detective contacted the suspect and reportedly arranged to purchase 50 glassine envelopes of heroin.
When the suspect allegedly showed up at a specified location in Fairfield, he was met by undercover detectives. Police subsequently searched the suspect’s motor vehicle and allegedly found 61 glassine envelopes filled with heroin.
Law enforcement arrested the suspect and charged him with multiple drug crimes, including possession with intent to distribute heroin.
