Essex County law enforcement recently arrested three people in connection with what is being called “a mobile drug store” that sold heroin in Newark, New Jersey.
According to authorities, the suspects ran a drug distribution operation out of a car in the South Ward of Newark, NJ.
The Essex County Sheriff’s Office got involved after receiving numerous complaints about illegal drug activity in the area of Frelinghuysen Avenue and Noble Street in the South Ward. Essex County Sheriff’s detectives investigated and reportedly saw one of the suspects sitting in a parked car and selling drugs to someone else.
Police officers waited for the vehicle to leave, then quickly pulled it over. When law enforcement searched the vehicle, they allegedly discovered heroin and Xanax. The drugs reportedly have a total street value of around $5,000.
Police arrested three people, all of whom are from Newark, New Jersey.
Two of the suspects have been charged with heroin distribution and related drug offenses, while the third suspect was charged with possession of Xanax.
