Orange NJ police arrested three people after allegedly finding weapons and drugs in two local residences.
The first raid took place at a house located in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue in Orange, New Jersey. Police allegedly discovered a loaded AK-47, two ammunition magazines, 3,500 packets of heroin valued at $28,000, and a small amount of marijuana. Additionally, police seized more than $16,000 in cash.
Police later located and arrested two residents of the home: a 26-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman.
The male suspect was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of heroin with intent to distribute. Meanwhile, the female suspect was charged with heroin possession and simple possession of marijuana.
The second raid occurred at a residence located in the 400 block of Scotland Road. According to Essex County prosecutors, police found 70 grams of cocaine valued at more than $3,000. Police also reportedly found assorted drug paraphernalia and nearly $1,400 in cash inside the home.
A 37-year-old man was placed under arrest at the scene. He has been charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
The male resident of the first home was transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, New Jersey, where he is being held on a $200,000 bail amount. The resident of the second home is also being held at the facility in lieu of $200,000 bail.
