Law enforcement is searching for four suspects accused of committing gas station robberies throughout Essex County, New Jersey.
According to authorities, the suspects robbed three gas stations in Newark, one gas station in Belleville, and one gas station in Orange. Moreover, the theft crimes were committed in a single day.
Around noon on Monday, the four suspects reportedly began their robbery spree at a gas station located on Sanford Avenue in the Valisburg area of Newark, NJ. The gas station attendant later told police that the robbers wore masks over their faces to conceal their identities.
Approximately half an hour after the first Newark gas station was robbed, two more gas stations were robbed. According to law enforcement, the suspects held up gas stations located on Prospect Avenue in Newark, New Jersey. After getting cash from gas station workers, the suspects reportedly fled in a gray Lexus with Florida license plates.
Later the same day, the suspects also allegedly robbed gas stations in Belleville and Orange, NJ.
Police forces in Newark, Belleville, and Orange are conducting a joint investigation into the gas station robbery spree. At this time, police have not yet identified any of the suspects.
