Newark NJ police are still trying to identify a group of men who may have been involved in the fatal shooting of a man outside a local strip club in December 2014.
According to prosecutors, several men got into an argument with the 26-year-old victim outside the 21 Foxes Go-Go strip club on Passaic Street in Newark, New Jersey.
The argument allegedly culminated in an act of violence. There was gunfire which resulted in two people getting shot. The victim who died was struck by several bullets.
The homicide victim was from Georgia. The other person hit by the gunfire was a 27-year-old woman from Newark.
Both victims were rushed to nearby University Hospital, where the Georgia man was pronounced dead a short time later. Thankfully, doctors were able to treat the female victim for a wound to her hip; she survived the attack.
Although the shooting occurred in December 2014, police are still trying to identify the suspects. The men being sought by police were captured on surveillance camera shortly before the killing.
If investigators are able to identify and apprehend the suspects, they could be subject to the most significant penalties under the New Jersey Criminal Code. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3, first degree murder carries a potential sentence of life imprisonment in NJ State Prison.

The Essex County Sheriff’s CrimeStoppers Program has offered a reward for information which leads to an arrest in the case.
Since the shooting, there has been another fatal shooting outside the 21 Foxes Go-Go strip club. A verbal altercation escalated and resulted in the shooting death of a 23-year-old East Orange NJ man. Additionally, another person was wounded as a result of the shooting.
