A Montclair New Jersey doctor has been accused of sexually abusing multiple patients at his office in Manhattan, NY.
According to authorities, the 45-year-old suspect groped and ejaculated onto one of his female patients at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York. The 22-year-old patient was at the hospital’s emergency room in order to receive treatment for shoulder pain.
When police officers spoke with the suspect the following day, he reportedly attempted to explain that his semen might have gotten onto the victim because he had masturbated earlier in the hospital lounge. The suspect said that he forgot to wash his hands after masturbating.
Additionally, investigators took a close look at the treatment provided by the suspect and determined that he may have given the victim an extra dose of morphine prior to sexually assaulting her. The victim told investigators that the suspect gave her an additional dose of a painkiller even though she had already gotten one.
After the woman came forward with the sex crime allegations in January, four other women said that they were also sexually assaulted by the suspect.
The suspect, a Montclair NJ resident, currently faces criminal charges for two counts of sexual abuse and two counts of facilitating a sexual offense in New York. However, it is possible that he could face additional charges, depending on the outcome of a pending investigation.
The suspect is no longer employed by Mt. Sinai Hospital; he was fired once prosecutors filed criminal charges in the case.
