Police in Glen Ridge NJ are searching for a man accused of exposing himself to a passenger on a New Jersey Transit bus.
The suspect was a passenger on the bus when he allegedly exposed himself to another person, a female passenger. The incident reportedly occurred around 10:00 a.m. on September 12.
After the incident, the victim called the Glen Ridge Police Department.
The victim told police officers that the suspect exposed himself to her while the bus passed through Glen Ridge, NJ along Bloomfield Avenue.
According to authorities, the bus driver noticed the incident and stopped the bus. At that point, the suspect reportedly ran off the bus and fled the area on foot.
The victim provided police with a description of the suspect. The victim said that the suspect is a man in his 50s with a medium build. The suspect had a goatee and was wearing a grey t-shirt at the time of the indecent exposure.
If police are able to identify and locate the suspect, he would likely face severe penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:14-4, a person who exposes himself in a public place to a non-consenting person can be charged with a disorderly persons offense. A conviction for lewdness could result in a sentence of 6 months in county jail.
