Caldwell NJ police are looking for a woman accused of hitting a car wash worker with her car and then driving off.
The scary incident went down a short time before 2:00 p.m. According to law enforcement, the suspect was driving a champagne-colored SUV through the Caldwell Car Wash located on Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell, New Jersey.
The suspect got her car washed and then proceeded to exit the premises. However, before exiting the car wash, the suspect allegedly struck the victim with her SUV. She then hit the gas and fled the scene by driving east on Bloomfield Avenue.
The female employee sustained physical injuries as a result of the car accident. At this time, officials have not revealed the extent of her accident-related injuries.
The Caldwell Police Department was called to the scene after the accident and began an investigation. At this time, investigators have not yet identified the suspect.
If the suspect is eventually identified and apprehended, she could face criminal charges for assault by auto and leaving the scene of an accident.
Caldwell police are asking for the public’s assistance with the investigation. Law enforcement recently released a description of the suspect: she is an older woman with short brown hair.
