Newark NJ police recently arrested a man who allegedly committed an armed robbery at a local cell phone store.
The arrest was made around 10:00 p.m. The Newark Police Department received a call about a domestic violence incident at a residence located on the 400 block of Roseville Avenue in Newark, New Jersey.
When police officers arrived at the home, a resident said that a family member had been involved in a robbery. The previous week, the suspect allegedly committed the theft at the Boost Mobile store located on the 300 block of Bloomfield Avenue in Newark. According to witnesses, the suspect walked into the store and brandished a knife as he stole expensive merchandise. The suspect then allegedly fled the scene on foot.
Newark police searched the Roseville Avenue residence and are said to have found cell phones stolen from the cell phone store. Additionally, police reportedly recovered the knife that was used during the robbery.
The 31-year-old suspect, who lives in Newark NJ, was arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including armed robbery and unlawful possession of a weapon.
