Montclair NJ police arrested a woman accused of stabbing a man in a local bank parking lot.
According to law enforcement, the 20-year-old suspect used the online website Craigslist to set up a meeting in the parking lot of the TD Bank located on Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair, New Jersey.
When the victim, a 22-year-old man from Hopatcong, arrived at the parking lot, the suspect allegedly stole the victim’s iPad and digital camera. The victim had advertised both items for sale on Craigslist.
After the suspect took the victim’s possessions, the suspect tried to flee the scene on foot.
The victim gave chase and eventually caught the suspect in the parking lot of the Lackawanna Mall. At that point, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim.
The victim reportedly suffered injuries to his leg and shoulder as a result of the attack. He drove himself to a Denville NJ hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries.
Meanwhile, the suspect got away. Montclair police officers arrived at the scene a short time later and investigated.
Police officers were able to locate the suspect by following a trail of blood. The suspect was eventually found at University Hospital in Newark, NJ, where she had gone to get medical treatment for her own injury.
After being placed under arrest, the suspect was charged with aggravated assault, theft of movable property, and weapons offenses.
The suspect is currently being held at the Essex County Jail in Newark on a $40,000 bail amount.
