Newark NJ police recently arrested a local man accused of firing several gunshots outside a home last year.
The shooting incident occurred in November 2015. According to authorities, the suspect brandished a handgun and fired gunshots in the 200 block of South 11th Street in Newark, New Jersey. Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of the violent incident.
The Newark Police Department investigated the shooting and eventually identified the suspect as the likely culprit. Detectives searched for the suspect for several months but were unable to locate him.
Law enforcement eventually tracked down the suspect at a residence located in the 200 block of Littleton Avenue in Newark NJ. Detectives with the Newark Police Department Fugitive Apprehension Team went to the house and placed the suspect under arrest.
The suspect, who used to be a basketball star for Newark Central High School, faces criminal charges for aggravated assault.
The suspect also has a pending criminal charge for robbery. The suspect allegedly robbed a man who was shoveling snow in his driveway in February 2014.
Additionally, the former Newark basketball star also faces criminal charges for heroin possession and cocaine possession because he was allegedly caught with numerous vials of heroin and cocaine while walking on a Newark street in December 2015.
The suspect is currently being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark NJ. His bail was set at an extremely high amount of $150,000 because he has so many pending criminal charges.
