Nutley NJ police arrested a Florida man who allegedly masturbated in a parked car near a local middle school.
According to authorities, the 64-year-old suspect was sitting inside an SUV when the incident occurred. The vehicle was reportedly parked approximately 75 yards away from John H. Walker Middle School on Franklin Avenue in Nutley, New Jersey.
Police said that the incident happened right around the time when students were being dismissed from school for the day. Worse yet, police said that the area where the suspect parked is typically “heavily congested” with children who are on their way home from school.
A police news release indicated that several parents saw the suspect performing the lewd act in his car. The parents then contacted police to report that a man was “gratifying himself” inside his vehicle.
Nutley police officers arrived at the scene and immediately began to investigate. Officers interviewed parents about the incident and got a description of the suspect.
Police later found the suspect in Nutley, NJ. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with criminal sexual contact.
Although the suspect was arrested and charged, he was later released from police custody after posting $2,500 bail. He has a pending court appearance.
Authorities indicated that the suspect currently lives in Florida. He previously lived in Nutley NJ. According to police, the suspect was in Nutley at the time of the incident because he was visiting a friend.
