Police in Bloomfield New Jersey arrested several people on drug and weapons charges after conducting a raid at a local apartment.
According to the Essex County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement learned that illegal activity was occurring at an apartment located on Bloomfield Avenue in Bloomfield, NJ. This prompted an investigation into the suspects.
Investigators eventually obtained enough evidence to secure a search warrant. The subsequent raid on the suspects’ apartment was conducted by the Bloomfield Police Department, the Irvington Police Department, and the Essex County Sheriff’s Office.
During the raid, police reportedly seized several handguns and a large amount of illegal drugs. Among the weapons discovered by police were a fully loaded 9mm handgun and two 45-caliber handguns. The drugs seized by police reportedly included more than 78 grams of uncut cocaine.
While searching one of the suspects, a 40-year-old Bloomfield man, police officers allegedly discovered him carrying eight zip-lock bags that were filled with cocaine.
The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with numerous crimes, including possession of cocaine, unlawful possession of a weapon, and other weapons offenses.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, NJ. He was being held at the jail on a $500K bond amount.
