Additionally, Newark police arrested a 36-year-old East Orange man, identified as the party promoter, and a 63-year-old East Orange NJ man, identified as the owner of the establishment. Neither suspect was able to provide police with credentials or a valid liquor license.
After shutting down the club, Newark detectives searched the premises and reportedly seized 28 bottles of liquor and more than 210 bottles of beer. Police also allegedly confiscated 145 grams of marijuana.
The promoter of the party has been charged with aiding and abetting an unlicensed liquor establishment, while the owner of the building has been charged with unlawful possession of alcohol and maintaining an unlicensed liquor establishment.
